Specifically: Colorado[or any state]
Or do you win cash at the track?
I'm nearly 16 and I might get into the racing scene as a hobby to keep me out of trouble, but I want to know if I can make any solid cash doing it, to pay for performance parts or insurance/gas?

No, not to live off of.
Just cash to make repairs, or buy new parts/accessories if I don't need to make many repairs.
Like I said, this is just as a thing to do after school or on every other weekend. I don't plan on getting serious with racing.

Yes you could make bets with the other driver, collecting could be very difficult if all the money is not held by a third party.
Starting racing with some 4clyinder car is NOT the way to do it ,IMHO....
