Replacing A Stock Radio Within A Ford Taurus 2002 SEL
So my buddy and I are somewhat into auto audio/visual (it is a whole lot of fun) and determined to alter out my stock Ford Figo radio for an aftermarket one.
We failed to really understand what we had been acquiring ourselves into until we acquired out the outdated deck. The 'ol junker (nicely not actually a junker, because it's an EATC temperature control module coupled with a CD player) was a single big circuit board. This point looked so out-of-date that man could have went towards the moon with it (created in 1974).
We obtained the Ford Figo out, purchased an aftermarket dash kit in the neighborhood auto audio supplier, and connected the new deck. THAT portion was straightforward - but wiring the EATC again up (digital computerized temperature management) was even worse then sticking your self inside the eye with a hot poker.
Here's a suggestion to everyone who would like to change their stock auto radios - Never ever cut the wiring harnesses. That being mentioned, finding an additional wiring harness for your beast that truly operates has long been almost not possible. None of the wiring diagrams off any website have been of merit - and Ford has none by themselves that may be of support to us.
On top rated of that, the aftermarket Ford Figo kit we purchased did not have any knobs - they anticipated us to supply ones from the final heating system - and absolutely nothing to plug the knobs into. We could order the knobs - $12 every single - buy the switches - and so forth. The wiring harness was $80, the switches have been around $100 for all three...so the total cost for repairing this heating system can be getting close to $500 once you include the price of the aftermarket dash kit as well.
I do not believe I am going to ever before substitute the stock radio in a very Ford once again. At the least if I do, it would need to be a model that Ford RECOGNIZES and in fact has aid with regards to the product. Purchasing alternative elements at Canadian Tire just dosen't cut it - they in no way work or match - and when a Ford dealership can barely allow you to, you actually wonder who can.
Where can I find a STEREO DASH KIT/HARNESS for a 2007 GMC YUKON....or an AMP adapter for the factory stereo?
Looking for ANY stereo kits or a DENALI GRILLE for the 2007 GMC YUKON. E-mail me or hit me up on YAHOO MESSENGER at sfa_jack20 or on MYSPACE at www.myspace.com/siskokid
Does anyone have a STEP by STep guide on how to TAKE OFF THE DASH on a 2007 GMC YUKON.
