ACN Phone Cutting Edge But Marketing Is Old School
ACN began in 1993 and has developed into the world's biggest direct sales telecom company. Their product line ranges from video phone and wireless service long distance and home security. Their best known product is the ACN video phone that allows users to connect via video and voice communication.
ACN has jumped on the home business bus. They rely on the MLM business model to promote and sell their products. Basically their approach is to move their products through a network of independent representatives who make sales by sharing the business and products with people they know also known as their "Warm List" of friends and family.
The ACN style has worked worked well at pushing them up the list to one of the top direct sales companies in their field. Network marketing has been a lucrative way to sell products since 1949 and has become the marketing arm for a very diverse range of products. Currently it seems that any kind of product is being moved through network marketing.
ACN is doing well but I do have an issue with them. With the resources ACN has in way of technology you would imagine they would come up with marketing training for their reps that was more current and tuned to reach the masses.
First I should state that I am a professional network marketer and I use current marketing practices such as the internet to grow my business. As I stated above, ACN uses the network marketing style but teaches their reps old school selling strategies. What most people fail to comprehend is the old style of of chasing your friends and family and creating a memory jogger is already a thing of the past and has already become an out dated way in growing a big downline. This is why 97% of the people who join MLM fail to make any real money.
Let me illustrate this for you. Think for a moment about a business. Let's use a pizza shop for example. Suppose you owned a pizza store and you invited every one of your friends and your family to come out and purchase a pizza every couple of weeks. That might sound great but what about the days when your friends and family don't want pizza? On these days they won't stop in and you won't make any sales. The point I'm trying to make is you need more than friends to build a business. What you actually need is a constant stream of customers flowing through your doors every single day.
This idea also applies to MLM. ACN teaches you to make a warm list of everyone you know and then invite them to a business meeting where they will be presented with an ACN phone overview and a presentation on the compensation plan. This may work for a little while but you will soon run out of people to talk with. Your business begins to die due to lack of prospects. There are not many people that are connected with enough people to keep their business afloat for a long period of time. You must do marketing if you wish to keep your business growing and you need a fresh supply of leads every day.
One of the most lucrative ways to market a opportunity is to promote online. Look around and you will see that most businesses are using the internet in some way to explode sales. The odd and amazing thing about ACN is they discourage their downline from using the internet to grow their business. The reason I know this is from talking with many different ACN distributors who told me that their upline suggested that the internet was a waste of time. I can prove them wrong. Distributors on my team have so many leads that there is not enough time in the day to call them all.
You would think that a company like ACN that has a high tech video phone would consider using current technology to grow their business. What they would rather do is promote an old style, ineffective marketing technique from the 90's and gloss over the fact that 97% of their reps are having zero success. So I have to ask the question, "Why won't ACN show their distributors a way to market so they can grow their business and earn a healthy income?" I guess that the leaders at ACN don't recognize how to use the internet and are afraid of it.
I shouldn't blame ACN because this problem spans the entire MLM industry. Most MLM companies do not teach marketing. I can tell you right now that calling your warm list is not marketing. When you have marketing in place the leads call you and chase you down. It's a completely different approach than what is taught in the MLM industry. It's about time for the old dinasours in this business to either learn some new marketing techniques or hang up trying to teach their downline ineffective ways to make money.
I show people how to market their opportunity online and have found that this is the best way to generate a flow of prospects that will allow you to build a huge business over time. Visit the resources below for supplementary information on my marketing techniques and how you can employ the power of the web and literally grow your opportunity on auto-pilot. This will work for ACN and any other multi-level marketing you decide to dominate in.

Where can we rent a old school/vintage yellow taxi for out wedding in the NY/NJ area?
We are getting married in spring of 09 and would just love our means of transportation to be an old school taxicab!! We haven't had the best luck in finding a source, please help!
I found this:
http://www.checkertaxistand.com
It appears to be a site for owners of old Checker Cabs of all eras. There is a link for rentals, but there were only three, and they didn't seem to lead anywhere anymore. The site still seems worth checking out because it might lead you in the right direction. I'd post on the message board - there's a section for non-members. There is also a spot to contact them - they are in VA. You could just ask if they know of anyone who rents out the one they own or if they know where the rental ones are. Clearly, they exist because movies still use them as though they still exist in NYC.
This is really the best I could find. You'd think this would be easier to find especially in the NYC/NJ area, wouldn't you? Good luck. I hope you get to find one. They are the best. When I was a kid, there were still a handful around in NYC, and we wound up in one. Best, roomiest ride ever - little jump seats in back and all!
Spanier and Paterno Are Out at Penn State (Missouri Sports Blog)
Graham B. Spanier, one of longest-serving and highest-paid university
presidents in the nation, who has helped raise the academic profile of Penn
State during his tenure, stepped down Wednesday night after a sexual-abuse
scandal involving a prominent former assistant football coach and the school’s
failure to act to halt further harm. Spanier’s departure came as the
university’s Board of Trustees also ended the 84-year-old Joe Paterno’s
career, denying him his wish to finish out the season, his 46th as head [...]
