Sound vanished?
When I booted up today I found that my sound had gone. I bought a new pair of speakers (cheap ones) but hasn't cleared the problem. I play a very loud piece of music in media player and what I hear is the following: its like when you hit the mute button on the TV. You can sometimes hear the faintest of sounds coming from it. Thats what I get from my speakers!
Anyone got any ideas? I would be very grateful for any assistance. I am what they call a "Silver Surfer" and I only understand plain English. Sorry about that, but thanks in advance. I am hoping that I won't need a new sound card because I honestly can't afford one.
this may work.... go to start then control panel. then find sound and audio devices, there should be a slide bar showing the volume make sure that's up , if it is go to advanced and make sure none of the setting are off or muted
